Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 16, 2025, addressing public safety, immigration policy, and regulatory reform.
In his first post at 14:46 UTC, Fry commented on crime rates in Memphis: “Memphis residents are begging for safety. When crime is out of control, people want it stopped. The model in Washington proves it works: put officers on the ground, crime drops.”
Later that day at 15:17 UTC, Fry referenced legislative efforts to enhance community safety through immigration screening measures: “While some are busy making TikToks, I’m working to protect American citizens. The Kayla Hamilton Act is about common sense: screening for gang tattoos to keep criminals out of our communities. This is about saving lives—not about how many likes we can get dancing in the halls of”
In a subsequent post at 20:19 UTC, Fry addressed federal regulations affecting household products: “Bureaucrats don’t belong in your home—and they shouldn’t be dictating what products families can and can’t use. The SHOWER Act cuts the red tape and restores common sense.”
Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th District since 2023 after replacing Tom Rice. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry holds a BA from the University of South Carolina and a JD from Charleston School of Law.
