Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a series of incidents and issues on his social media account on August 27, 2025.

In response to a violent event at a local school, Fry wrote on August 27, “Absolutely devastating. My prayers are with the students, families, and first responders affected by the horrific attack at Annunciation Catholic School.”

Later that day, he commented on national energy policy. On August 27, Fry posted: “America runs on energy—and petroleum keeps our economy moving!

Addressing an incident involving military personnel in Washington D.C., Fry stated on August 27: “This is despicable.

Two South Carolina National Guard soldiers were spat on in D.C.—a felony assault. Our men and women in uniform deserve better, not this vile behavior.

Russell Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th District since replacing Tom Rice in 2023. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and later received a law degree from Charleston School of Law.
