Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his social media account regarding recent political and legislative developments.
On August 21, 2025, Fry commented on a New York appeals court decision involving former President Donald Trump. He wrote: “Huge victory for President Trump! A NY appeals court just tossed AG Letitia James’ ridiculous $500M civil fraud judgment. This sham lawsuit was a blatant political attack—and today, justice won. A massive win for the rule of law.”
The following day, August 22, Fry expressed appreciation to the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce for hosting him at an event in Washington. He stated: “Thank you to @scchamber for having me at Washington Night! We had a great conversation about powering our state and the CIRCUIT Act, which boosts domestic production of distribution transformers, strengthens our grid, creates jobs, and advances American energy independence.”
Later that same day, Fry addressed public safety in the nation’s capital with another post: “Violent crime in Washington, D.C. dropped 22% in just one week after President Trump’s crackdown, with zero homicides reported. This is what happens when we put law and order first. We’re making DC safe again!”
Russell Fry has served as South Carolina’s representative since replacing Tom Rice in 2023 and previously held office in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from Charleston School of Law.
