Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account commemorating Labor Day, the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, and honoring Deputy Devin Mason.
On September 1, 2025, Fry shared a message for Labor Day: “Happy Labor Day! Today we honor the hardworking men and women who built this nation and continue to make America strong. Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing holiday with family and friends! https://t.co/YzLCA9Ewiu”
The following day, he marked the historic end of World War II in the Pacific: “Eighty years ago today, the USS Missouri witnessed the surrender of Japan, ending World War II in the Pacific. We honor the Greatest Generation for their sacrifice, courage, and unwavering commitment to liberty. God bless America! #VJDay80 https://t.co/0Y9eCjwnl3” (September 2, 2025).
Later that same day, Fry paid tribute to a fallen law enforcement officer: “Deputy Devin Mason made the ultimate sacrifice for his community. This weekend, his legacy was honored at the Cook Out Southern 500 in a moving tribute. Thank you to @JHNemechek and Legacy Motor Club for keeping his memory alive. https://t.co/RxLlN3jBiA” (September 2, 2025).
Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th district since replacing Tom Rice in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry holds degrees from both the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
