Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account on August 26 and 27, 2025, addressing issues ranging from national remembrance to public safety and leadership.
On August 26, Fry commemorated the anniversary of the loss of American service members during the Afghanistan withdrawal: “Four years ago today, we lost 13 American heroes at Abbey Gate during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. Their sacrifice was profound, but their loss was preventable. We will never forget the bravery of those who gave their lives. May God bless them all.”
Later that day, he addressed concerns about crime and urban safety: “Accountability for criminals. Support for police. Safety for families. That’s how we restore America’s cities! “
On August 27, Fry commented on leadership and results in government: “No excuses. Just results. This is what real leadership looks like. Thank you, @POTUS! “
Fry has served as a member of Congress since replacing Tom Rice in 2023 after previously serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022 (source: Russell Fry biography). Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry holds degrees from both the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
