James E. Clyburn, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 6th district since 1993, addressed recent political developments and extended holiday greetings in a series of posts on September 22, 2025.
In one post, Clyburn alleged misconduct by former President Donald Trump regarding the appointment and actions of federal prosecutors. On September 22, he wrote: “Trump forced out a federal prosecutor for being unwilling to bring bogus charges against his so-called ‘enemies,’ replaced him with someone who will, and is now pressuring his AG Pam Bondi to get it done. He’s using the presidency to target opponents—not to fight for Americans.”
Later that evening, Clyburn sent greetings for Rosh Hashanah. At 22:15 UTC, he posted: “Sending warm wishes to those celebrating Rosh Hashanah in America and around the world. May the new year bring peace, hope, and joy to all. Shanah Tovah!”
In another post on the same day at 22:42 UTC, Clyburn made further allegations concerning Trump administration officials: “Trump’s ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan, leading Trump’s destructive ‘mass deportation’ effort, was caught last year taking a $50K cash bribe to help land Trump admin contracts. Trump ended the investigation.”
Jim Clyburn has served as a member of Congress since replacing Robin Tallon in 1993 and represents South Carolina’s 6th District. Born in Sumter in 1940 and currently residing in Columbia, Clyburn graduated from South Carolina State University with a BA in 1962.
