James E. Clyburn, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 6th district, recently shared his reflections and condolences on social media. Known for his influential role in politics since replacing Robin Tallon in 1993, Clyburn has been an active voice on various issues.

On March 23, 2025, Clyburn commemorated the anniversary of a significant legislative milestone. He stated, “15 years ago today, @BarackObama signed into law what I called the Civil Rights Act of the 21st Century.” He highlighted that “A record 50 million Americans gained health coverage through the Affordable Care Act,” emphasizing its transformative impact on American lives.

The following day, March 24, 2025, Clyburn expressed his sympathies to the family of a former colleague. He tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences are with the family of former Congresswoman Mia Love of Utah.” He reflected on his relationship with Love during her tenure in Congress and recognized her as “the first Black Republican woman elected to Congress,” noting her belief in unity.

Later that same day, Clyburn shared a personal moment related to sports achievements. He posted about receiving a commemorative item from prominent figures at the University of South Carolina: “I was thrilled to receive a Gamecock Women’s Basketball 2024 National Championship ring from @dawnstaley and @UofSC President Amiridis this morning.” His enthusiasm for future victories was evident as he encouraged further success with “Let’s bring home another one this year!”
