Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently made several statements on social media addressing issues ranging from immigration and economic policy to veterans’ affairs.
On August 7, 2025, Fry commented on immigration policy, stating: “Biden released three ILLEGAL immigrants from Venezuela into our country—and now they face charges of murder, sexual assault, and robbery. This is the result of open borders and zero accountability. The safety of the American people should never be compromised to satisfy a broken https://t.co/PltvpHXATC”.
The following day, August 8, Fry highlighted recent economic developments in South Carolina: “Major win for South Carolina thanks to President Trump’s economic policy! That’s 50,000 more tons of aluminum, 100 new jobs, and a BIG boost for American manufacturing https://t.co/cuWkZZUbdZ”.
Later that same day, he announced an event for local veterans: ” On Tuesday, August 12, I’m hosting a Veterans Resource & Appreciation Day in Myrtle Beach! Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th district since 2023 after succeeding Tom Rice. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet at age 38, Fry holds degrees from the University of South Carolina (BA) and Charleston School of Law (JD).
