U.S. Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district, posted a series of statements on his social media account between July 15 and July 16, 2025, addressing judicial decisions on immigration, tax relief for seniors, and legislation related to the murder of Kayla Hamilton.

On July 15, Fry wrote: “Judicial activism is out of control. Rogue judges are protecting illegal immigrants and tying ICE’s hands—but President Trump is fighting back, and law and order will prevail.”

The following day, he commented on legislative developments impacting seniors: “This is a BIG win for seniors! The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers major tax relief—putting more money in seniors’ pockets and protecting retirement income.”

Later on July 16, Fry referenced the murder of Kayla Hamilton by an undocumented immigrant and linked it to current federal policies: “Kayla Hamilton’s murder by an illegal immigrant was a tragic result of Biden-Harris policies. No family should endure what Kayla and her mom, Tammy, went through. I introduced the Kayla Hamilton Act to restore accountability and put American safety FIRST.”

Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th congressional district since replacing Tom Rice in 2023. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985, Fry currently resides in Murrells Inlet. He holds a BA from the University of South Carolina (2007) and a JD from Charleston School of Law (2011).
