Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding his activities in Washington, D.C., and his stance on national issues.
On September 2, Fry posted about meeting with members of South Carolina’s National Guard stationed in the nation’s capital. He wrote, “Today I had the privilege of meeting with SC’s National Guard deployed in DC. These brave men & women keep our capital safe. I’m especially grateful to the 2 soldiers who endured unthinkable disrespect being spat on—your courage & professionalism make South Carolina proud.”
The following day, Fry commented on health care policy under the current administration. On September 3, he stated, “Democrats let fraud and abuse run wild in our health care system for years. Accountability is back and fairness is restored under @POTUS!”
Later that same day, Fry reflected on his return to Washington after working in his district during August. He said, “Back in D.C. after a busy August in the district! Kicked things off by meeting our SC National Guard, discussing foreign threats to free speech in @JudiciaryGOP, and supporting nuclear energy. Lots ahead this month—but I’m ready to get to work for the American people! “
Fry has served as the representative for South Carolina’s 7th district since 2023, succeeding Tom Rice. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry holds degrees from both the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
