Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to announce several initiatives and updates relevant to his constituents.
On March 11, 2026, Fry invited high school students from his district to participate in a creative contest: “High school students across SC-07: show us your creativity! My 2026 Congressional Art Competition is officially open. This year’s theme is Celebrating 250 Years of America. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year. Submit your entry by April 15 at 5 https://t.co/mL8X6UQbcu”.
Later that day, on March 11, Fry highlighted local economic development: “HUGE WIN for the Pee Dee! Cheney Brothers is expanding in Florence County with a $42.5M investment and 85 new jobs. Economic growth like this means more opportunity for hardworking South Carolinians. Proud to see businesses continue choosing SC-07! https://t.co/IhsYogdrfk”.
On March 12, Fry shared information about legislative efforts aimed at supporting families: “.@HouseGOP is delivering real relief for working families: a stronger Child Tax Credit, expanded childcare support, and more help for parents balancing work and family. Our goal is simple: make it easier to raise a family in America, because the tax code should reward families,”.
Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th District since replacing Tom Rice in Congress in 2023 and previously served in the state House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry holds degrees from the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
