The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Grand Strand Conference Center in Myrtle Beach.

The event aims to connect veterans with organizations that can help them access resources such as VA education benefits, caregiver support, assistance with submitting VA disability claims, and information about using VA health care.

Organizations participating include Horry-Georgetown Technical College, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Columbia Regional Office, South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs (SCDVA), Horry County Veterans Affairs, Myrtle Beach & Columbia Vet Centers, Ralph H. Johnson Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and WM. Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

“Congressman Russell Fry will host a Veterans Resource and Appreciation Day in Myrtle Beach for veterans across South Carolina’s Seventh District. This event will help connect veterans to needed resources and give them access to 1-on-1 assistance.”

“Organizations will be available to help veterans learn about what resources they are eligible for, about VA education benefits and caregiver support, receive assistance submitting a VA disability claim and using VA health care, and more.”

Fry currently serves on both the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. He represents South Carolina’s 7th district in Congress after replacing Tom Rice in 2023. Before his election to Congress, Fry served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985, Fry now lives in Murrells Inlet. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in 2007 and earned his JD from Charleston School of Law in 2011.
