Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of updates and personal reflections on his official Twitter account.
On February 4, 2026, Fry emphasized the importance of accountability in public office, stating, “This job is about responsibility—to victims, families, taxpayers, and every American. That’s why we reopened the government, got my Trafficking Survivors Relief Act signed into law, delivered $10.8M to SC-07, rolled back overreach, and passed the Kayla Hamilton Act.”
Later that day, Fry expressed gratitude for birthday messages he received from constituents and national figures alike: “Big thanks for all the birthday wishes—calls, texts, and notes from friends back home. I even got one from @POTUS himself! Grateful for the support and fired up for the year ahead!”
Addressing cultural commentary on February 5, Fry responded to recent remarks by singer Billie Eilish at an awards event: “Billie Eilish can chant slogans on an awards stage all she wants. But most Americans don’t live behind gates with private security. In the real world, borders, laws, and citizenship exist. Legal immigration and rule of law isn’t radical. It’s reality.”
Fry has represented South Carolina’s 7th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Tom Rice. Before his congressional tenure began in Washington D.C., he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently residing in Murrells Inlet at age 38, Fry holds a BA from the University of South Carolina (2007) and a JD from Charleston School of Law (2011).
