South Carolina Congressman Russell Fry has highlighted recent legislative and local initiatives in a series of posts on his social media account, focusing on disaster relief for farmers, federal funding measures, and health awareness.
On October 4, 2025, Fry wrote about hurricane recovery efforts: “South Carolina’s farmers are the backbone of our state. Even after Hurricane Helene, they never stopped working for us. Now, $38.3M in relief is on the way to help them rebuild. Thank you Sec. Rollins, @SCDAgriculture & President Trump.”
Two days later, he addressed ongoing federal budget negotiations: “.@HouseGOP passed a clean funding bill to keep the government open while @SenateDems refuse to act. Being big mad at the president isn’t a winning strategy, but that’s their playbook. It’s time to stop the spectacle. Do your job.” This post referenced tensions between House Republicans and Senate Democrats regarding government spending bills.
On October 6, Fry acknowledged a national health campaign: “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Let’s stand together in support of survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and keep fighting for a cure.”
Russell Fry currently represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress after succeeding Tom Rice in 2023. Before his congressional tenure, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022 and holds degrees from the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
Born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and now residing in Murrells Inlet, Fry continues to use his platform to address both statewide issues such as agricultural recovery and broader topics like national budget policy and public health awareness.
