Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, has recently shared updates and opinions on his official Twitter account, addressing constituents about legislative actions and ongoing political issues.
On July 28, 2025, Fry announced an event for his constituents: “Our office is hosting a telephone town hall today at 5:30pm! I’m looking forward to giving you an update on how our office has been working for #SC07 at home and in Washington. To join, call 855-962-1008.”
Later that day, Fry commented on the Democratic Party’s popularity and policy stances: “The Democrat Party just hit its lowest favorability in 35 years. Hard to be surprised when they voted against: Historic tax cuts No taxes on tips No taxes on overtime pay No taxes on American-made auto loans They’ve abandoned common sense—and the American people” (July 28, 2025).
On July 29, 2025, Fry addressed concerns regarding immigration enforcement with another statement: “These violent illegal immigrants should’ve never set foot in this country in the first place. They broke our laws, they hurt innocent Americans, and they must be removed from our country immediately. The fact that the Left continues to defend this lawlessness is shameful.”
Fry began serving as U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 7th district in 2023 after previously holding a seat in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. He succeeded Tom Rice in Congress and currently resides in Murrells Inlet after being born in Surfside Beach in 1985. Fry holds a BA from the University of South Carolina (2007) and a JD from Charleston School of Law (2011).
