Congressman Russell Fry, representing South Carolina’s 7th district since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through his social media posts. His tweets reflect his stance on immigration, local sports, and national policy changes.
On June 18, 2025, Congressman Fry endorsed Arnold Schwarzenegger’s view on immigration. He tweeted that if individuals come to America, they should respect the country’s laws and customs and do so legally. He emphasized that those who enter illegally and commit crimes should face consequences. “If you come to America, you respect our laws, our people, and our way of life—and you come here LEGALLY. You don’t get to come here illegally, proceed to commit crimes, and have no consequences.”
Later that day, Fry expressed enthusiasm for a significant achievement by Coastal Baseball. Celebrating their advancement to the finals, he remarked on the excitement this has generated in the Grand Strand area with the words: “HUGE win today for @CoastalBaseball. The Grand Strand is fired up! Finals, here we come”
The following day on June 19, 2025, Fry shared statistics comparing immigration enforcement from May 2024 to May 2025. He noted a substantial decrease in illegal immigrants being released into the U.S., attributing this change to current leadership policies: “May 2024: 62,000 illegal immigrants released into the U.S. May 2025: ZERO.” He praised these developments as a return to law and order under the administration of President Biden.
Russell Fry was born in Surfside Beach in 1985 and currently resides in Murrells Inlet. Before joining Congress in 2023 after succeeding Tom Rice, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Fry holds degrees from the University of South Carolina and Charleston School of Law.
