Cost of college went up for all students at Williamsburg Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.3 percent for 2018-19 at Williamsburg Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina residents paid $4,488 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $144 more than the $4,344 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 84.5 percent more than residents this year, or $8,280. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 3.3 percent from $8,016 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are South Carolina residents.

Data shows 94 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 48 students received grants or scholarships totaling $280,124.

Including all undergraduates (737), 697 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2 million.
