Cost of college went up for all students at Coker College

Tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2018-19 at Coker College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $29,548 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $864 more than the $28,684 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 201 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.3 million and 161 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,280), 970 students used grants or scholarships totaling $16.9 million, and 790 students took out $5.9 million in federal student loans.
