Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center: Offering COVID-19 Additional Dose

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center issued the following announcement on August 24.

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) is now offering the third dose of the Pfizer vaccine to immunocompromised individuals at the Carolina Pines Medical Group Vaccine Clinic, Suite 108. Patients must have had their second dose of vaccine administered at least 28 days from the time they receive their additional (third) dose. Patients that have received their two doses of either Moderna OR Pfizer are eligible to receive the additional (third) dose.

Individuals may qualify for a third dose if they are moderately or severely immunocompromised due to a medical condition or receipt of immunosuppressive medications or treatments. This includes people who have: 

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood 
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system 
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system 
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome) 
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection 
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response 
Immunocompromised individuals wishing to receive their third dose of vaccine should view and download the attestation form by visiting cprmc.com/attestation-form and present the completed document at their appointment.

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center strongly encourages all individuals aged 12 and older to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as it is our best defense against this deadly virus.
