McLeod Health welcomes Dr. Sonya Saadati and Dr. Chad Thornhill to the medical staff.
Dr. Saadati is a family medicine physician at McLeod Primary Care Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She comes from private practice in Bristol, Tennessee, specializing in Functional Medicine. Board Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Saadati said, “I chose primary care medicine, with a functional medicine emphasis, because I believe in taking care of our health from the inside out. Having a home in Oak Island, I have had the opportunity to speak with residents and realized the need for primary care in the area.” Dr. Saadati treats patients with a broad spectrum of health care needs, ranging from primary care to more complicated medical needs including heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, and multi-system dysfunction. Dr. Thornhill serves patients at the newly formed practice, McLeod Pediatric Gastroenterology, which opened September 1. Board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology, Dr. Thornhill specializes in digestive, liver and nutritional disorders in children, ranging from lactose intolerance to food allergies, severe or complicated gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, pancreatic insufficiency, feeding disorders and more. “I find this field of practice extremely hands-on, which allows me to understand the course of disease process and achieve a positive outcome,” explains Dr. Thornhill.
