McLeod Health issued the following announcement on October 1.

McLeod Health welcomes foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Adam Mandel to McLeod Orthopaedics Seacoast. Dr. Mandel joins Dr. Eric Heimberger, Dr. David Lukowski, Dr. Peter Lukowski, Dr. Jeremy McCallum, Dr. Christopher Stanley and Dr. Christopher Walsh in serving orthopedic patients in Horry and Brunswick Counties.

As a foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Mandel treats all conditions related to the foot and ankle in addition to general lower extremity orthopedic trauma. He is trained in all areas of care including surgical, non-surgical and restorative treatments. Surgically, he performs orthopedic lower extremity trauma/fractures including all areas of foot and ankle trauma, sports injuries, cartilage restoration, reconstructions, fusions, tendon transfers, tendon repairs, ligament repairs/reconstructions, ankle replacement surgery, bunions, toe corrections, revision surgeries. Non-surgically, he can prescribe bracing, medical treatments, physical therapy, orthotics, assistive devices, cortisone injections. He is an adult foot and ankle surgeon but can treat pediatric trauma/injuries/inflammatory conditions.

“I began my healthcare career as a physical therapist but decided to further my education and become an orthopedic surgeon,” said Dr. Mandel “Helping takeaway a patient’s pain is a powerful thing. I enjoy seeing my patients get back their quality of life.”
