Marlboro County School District issued the following announcement on September 24.
McColl Elementary Middle School received a generous donation of 6 new clarinets and 6 new trumpets from McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church (MPHC) this week.
Mrs. Whitley, band teacher, had forty-two 6th grade band students with only thirty instruments, including flutes, trombones, baritones and tubas, no clarinets or trumpets.
A few friends reached out and MPHC responded by purchasing twelve new instruments for the school. They have also organized a church yard sale to assist in purchasing additional instruments and supplies.
We are beyond grateful for MPHC and what they do for MEMS.
