McLeod Health issued the following announcement on October 1.

McLeod Health Seacoast is pleased to announce the addition of dedicated breast surgeon, Dr. Tasha Martin of McLeod Breast Surgery Seacoast, to care for women in Horry and Brunswick Counties.

Dr. Martin comes to McLeod following the completion of her Fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. She received her medical degree in 2015 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed her General Surgery Residency in 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Board Certified in General Surgery, Dr. Martin treats benign and malignant breast diseases, including treatment of breast infections, tumor removals and breast cancer. She is also trained to perform a wide variety of surgical breast procedures such as lumpectomies, total mastectomies, quadrantectomies, skin-sparing mastectomies, nipple-sparing mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies, and axillary lymph node dissections.

Dr. Martin understands the complexity of breast cancer as well as the importance of an individualized treatment plan that works best for each patient.

“Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, but my goal is to provide my patients with support every step of the way,” said Dr. Martin. “My patients include both males and females of any age, ranging from teens to seniors.”

When she is not seeing patients in clinic or performing breast surgery in the operating room, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, playing soccer, running and windsurfing.
