Coker University issued the following announcement on November 3.
HARTSVILLE, SC (November 4, 2021) - C-SPAN's Washington Journal recently aired a 40-minute segment featuring Coker University and the research work of Coker VP Patrick Riccards.
C-SPAN Guest Host Jesse Holland discussed the state of K-12 social studies instruction in the United States with Riccards, highlighting a recent national survey Riccards conducted showing that only four in 10 Americans can pass a basic American history multiple-choice test comprised of questions from the practice tests for the U.S. citizenship test.
Riccards used the opportunity to discuss some of Coker's work, including how Coker's curriculum can be used to address issues such as civic engagement.
