Coker University issued the following announcement on November 9.
HARTSVILLE, SC (November 9, 2021) -- As part of its commitment to strengthening the pipeline of teacher candidates in South Carolina, Coker University recently launched a new partnership with TeacherReady that allows exemplary teacher candidates to earn their master's degree in education.
Under the new Coker initiative, students will complete 24 of the 30 hours necessary for a Coker master's degree through the Coker University Wiggins School of Education. The remaining six credit hours will be earned through TeacherReady coursework. Each Coker graduate course is six weeks long, and Coker is providing the degree program for a flat $18,000 rate.
The new program is focused on college graduates who do not have an undergraduate education degree. Teacher certification will come through TeacherReady, a Florida-based online teacher certification program. TeacherReady is a member of the Professional Education Unit at the University of West Florida and is accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP).
