We are so excited to announce that our new knee replacement robot will now officially go by the name of "R2-KNEE2," a spin-off of R2-D2 from well-known film series, Star Wars!
Congratulations to Rhonda Dixon for submitting the winning entry and receiving the $100 Amazon gift card! We had so much engagement from the community with this contest and we received a lot of great name suggestions. Thank you to everyone who participated!
R2-KNEE2, located tableside in the operating room, allows a surgeon's hand movements to be scaled, filtered, and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments at the surgical site.
Carolina Pines is proud to be the first hospital in the area to offer this advanced technology!
