Junior Leadership Florence County class of 2022-2023

The Junior Leadership Florence County class of 2022-2023 met this week with program advisors for a Parent/ Student Orientation at Arbor One.

Advisors Freddricka Pressley with Clemson Extension and Kristin Nesmith, with Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, greeted attendees and led the meeting.

This year, the program reached its highest student participation level with a  class of 30 students from private, public and homeschool's in Florence County.

The students and their parents gathered to review the program guidelines, expectations and schedule for the nine-month  program. Everyone was encouraged to mingle and chat after the meeting, while enjoying refreshments during conversations.

The student will experience an overnight retreat in late July at Camp Bob Cooper in Summerton. Then in August, they will have “Meet me at the Lanes” where they will have a night to mingle with each other before the monthly sessions start in September.

Without the partnership between Clemson Extension, FMU, and the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, this program would not be possible. We are thankful for the support from the community and the donations that the program receives. This will be the 8th  class that will graduate from Junior Leadership Florence County.
