Jeff Steen Wins DAISY Award

Congratulations to Jeff Steen, RN in the ICU for winning the DAISY award for the 3rd quarter of 2022!

Jeff resides in Hartsville with his wonderful wife and 2 daughters. His oldest daughter works in PCU as a Nurse Extern. She is currently attending Northeastern Technical College where she in enrolled in the nursing program. He and his wife have been married for 27 years. His favorite place to eat is Raceway Grill in Darlington and he also loves to take a Sunday ride to McLeod Farms to enjoy a peach enchilada.  In his spare time, he loves playing golf. He is an avid hunter and fisherman, and he likes to watch college football.

Jeff began his career here at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in September of 2013 as a Nurse Extern. He graduated from Hartsville High School in 1991 and continued his education at Florence Darlington Technical College where he received an Associates Degree in Science in 2015.

Jeff is a soft-spoken person who always greets his co-workers and patients with a smile on his face. He is kind-hearted to his fellow co-workers as well as to his patients. He leaves you with the feeling that there are still good people in the world.

Jeff was nominated for the DAISY award by a patient. She stated, “Jeff went above and beyond to make me feel safe and secure and he was kind and empathetic to my situation. He is a star in his profession and should be treated as such.” This patient also noted that her stay at Carolina Pines was not fun but the care she received from Jeff was absolutely wonderful!  This patient went on to say that it was difficult for her to ask for help, but all seemed very willing to do whatever was needed and that the Hartsville community is blessed to have Carolina Pines as a source for medical care.

Jeff is an asset to Carolina Pines and we are proud to have him as a part of the Carolina Pines family!
