FLORENCE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas is excited to announce that it will host its 2023 Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.
“We have a great relationship with the City of Florence and the Conference Carolinas Men's and Women's Tennis Championships give us the opportunity to expand our partnership even further,” Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “We know that the City of Florence will do a tremendous job hosting and showcasing our exceptional tennis student-athletes in April of 2023.”
The 2023 Conference Carolinas Tennis Championships will be contested Friday, April 21-Sunday, April 23.
“The City of Florence Athletics/Sports Tourism Department is extremely excited to continue our partnership with Conference Carolinas by hosting the 2023 Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships,” City of Florence Director of Athletics Tim Wilson said. “This tournament will continue the rich tradition of hosting high-level tennis events at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center. This will be a great event for the Florence Community and will have a positive impact on our local economy. I appreciate Commissioner Colvin for trusting the City of Florence with this event and we are excited about providing a great experience for the student-athletes.”
The top eight seeds after the regular season in both men’s and women’s tennis will advance to Florence, South Carolina for the championships.
“The City of Florence has always enjoyed hosting college tennis tournaments,” Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center Director of Tennis Rob Hill said. “They bring a level of tennis to the community that thrills our fans. This event will definitely be no exception. We know hosting the Conference Carolinas Tennis Championships will allow us to see the best that the conference has to offer. The fact that a local college could also be competing will also generate even more interest in our local community. The fourth weekend in April should be one of the best of the year for tennis fans in Florence!”
