James E. Clyburn, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina's 6th district, shared his views on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Clyburn, who has been in office since 1993, addressed issues concerning Republican actions and their impact on American citizens.

On March 6, 2025, Clyburn tweeted about the potential consequences of certain Republican actions: "It's possible that some Republicans see their actions are hurting the American people. Trump reversed himself on some of these mass firings of federal workers. It could be his party said to him — you're acting outside the constitution and should reign yourself in."

Later that day, he referenced a biblical text to emphasize the importance of action over faith alone: "As the book of James says, Faith without works is dead. Our actions are what matter and Congress' budget reflects a lack of compassion and a vision to uplift American families. People of faith everywhere should stand united in this Lenten season to reject all harm to families…"

Additionally, Clyburn participated in an event with fellow Democrats and faith leaders on Ash Wednesday.
